Right now...

So yesterday we had Rachel's Challenge come to our school. It was really deep and inspirational. It's also one of those things that really makes you believe in a higher power. I won't go into the details but its a very cool program and everyone should check it out. Anyways it gave me some very inspirational thoughts...

Like it seems all we are are small blips of light in an immense void. Is there more to life and what is it? Anyways I'm gonna have a hard time putting to words the thoughts in my head but the one thing I wanna share is the only thing I know for sure. All we have is right now. We don't for sure have tomorrow or the rest of today or even a minute from now. Nothing is guarenteed in the future and the past is impossible to exactly recreate. All we have and own for sure is the moment right now so be sure you are happy in yourself. That's all I wanted to say i guess

Obama... He's Everywhere

Obama just made history! Congrats!

By the way to everyone who saw the inaguration it was just a little funny when he messed up...nervous much. But it was a great speech and I'm excited for the next four years. History in the Making.

Of course I do think everyone spent way too much time celebrating his color and not his presidency. But he did good and we can let him have his day. Let's see what happens next...

Dr. Martin Luther King Day

So we just watched the I have a Dream speech my Dr. King and we were asked to blog about how we feel about racism today. Personally I feel good about it. Yes there are some whites who are racist to blacks, yet I believe there are just as many blacks who will feel the same way about whites. I believe there is tension yet I don't believe that the tension is unjust and is rather mutual. Of course I don't know to much and I'm not gonna pretend to. I live in a small school with very little diversity so there is little racism. And the amount of racism we have seems to me to be arrogant kids or people who have a dislike yet will not act upon it which is all that matters. I think we have come a long way from Dr. King's day and he would be proud of what he would see. Plus there's Obama =)

Sad Sad Day

http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/11/28/2008-11-28_worker_dies_at_long_island_walmart_after.html

A temp-worker at Wal-mart died on black friday this year. This is truly a sad day. It is appearent that some people value material objects much more than human life.

The NY Local Daily News went on to say "When the madness ended, 34-year-old Jdimytai Damour was dead and four shoppers, including a woman eight months pregnant, were injured."
